I'm buying a Sector 9 Platinum Series Joel Tudor Longboard, and i need some opinions badly on wheels?
Here are the spec's
Deck 38.3"L x 8.75"W (7 Ply Hard Rock Maple)
Trucks 9" Gullwing Charger Trucks / Black Powder Coat
Wheels 65mm/78a Top Shelf Nineball Wheels
Bearings Abec 5 Greaseball Bearings
Hardware Full Grip Tape w/ Die cut for logo, 1.5" Bolt Pack, 1/4" Flat Riser
so i'm not into carving or sliding, and i'm really just looking for a nice ride. i'm not too concerned about how smooth the ride is, i dont really need the best. I'm just wondering about 65mm for the duro cause i want to be quick, (nothing ridiculous) but still have somewhat control.. should i get new wheels? after a lot of research im pretty convinced that 78a is about perfect for me, cause im really just looking to cruise my neighborhood. im still wondering though if i'll have an issue with riding over cracks or anyhting?
anyway, i've been riding for a few years now and im just trying to get the perfect board.
You want the perfect board then get yourself some sector 9 race brand yellow wheels there so legit i ride a 74mm 80 duro and i can go over train tracks so i think they can handle cracks. and you said you don't like to carve and duro has alot to do with carving cause if your all about carving then you get the wheels that stick to the asphalt the best which are like 78A wheels i have 80A wheels and im a big carver downhill rider and there so grippey so don't worry about it being the grippeyist wheel epically when your not even a person that carves alot 80A is fine so get either orangtang wheels or sector 9 race wheels there's really no difference between the wheels accept the colors yellow orange and purple. yeah there 50 bucks but there also the gnarliest wheels ive ever ridden and kick the crap out of all my friends boards and trust me i know what im talking about. also the wheels will go nicely with it also you should get new bearings sector 9 stock bearings aren't very good you should get bone reds the only 16 bucks and there great ABEC 7, the only bearings i ride on, and do you have any clue what that indent on the graphic of the deck is for? i have an idea but i don't know if its true haha.
