Soft Light Colors For Winter Weddings
When you think of winter colors for weddings, the color that should come to mind is white. Yet there is no rule that a winter celebration has to be decorated in deep or holiday-inspired shades. In fact, it can be unexpectedly beautiful to choose lighter colors for a winter wedding. Here is how to include soft colors in a winter wedding in a seasonally-appropriate fashion.
Soft neutrals can be gorgeous for winter, and are a nice break from the dark colors we tend to see. Think about how refreshing a winter white wool sweater can look in a sea of brown and black. It is true for a wedding as well. Wearing an ivory and champagne color palette to a winter ceremony can really give you an elegant and classic look. Choosing rich materials is the key to giving it a wintery feel. An ivory silk velvet wedding gown with champagne colored Swarovski pearl earrings would be stunning for the bride. Champagne satin bridesmaid dresses with an elegant detail, such as a large twist bow at the waist would be a beautiful complement. Dress the reception tables in luxe ivory damask tablecloths with champagne organza napkins. A little mix of gold can really help an accent color, such as for chargers under the china place mats. Arrange ivory flowers such as roses and lilies in tall champagne colored fluted vases for a gorgeous centerpiece.
Another soft color to use for a winter wedding is blush. Dazzle and shine are the keys to making the light hue colors feel festive and wintery. A mix of mocha brown would be a pretty accent color for the blush. Blush colored roses in ornate silver vases would be gorgeous for the ceremony decorations and centerpieces. Incorporate silver glittery branches for a wintery feel in the floral arrangements. Blush colored satin with mocha sashes for bridesmaid dresses look elegant and feminine. And for the bride, a pair of blush sequin ballet flats would be a fun accent under an ivory gown. The whole effect of this light color pallete will take your breath away.
A light moss green is another beautiful color for a winter wedding. Rich antique bronze accents will make the light color very appropriate for the colder months. Dress your bridesmaids in the moss color, and give them pearl earrings in a bronze hue for their bridesmaid gifts. Moss green tablecloths made of quilted silk shantung topped with china bronze rims will really set up the reception tables perfectly. Antique bronze footed urns spilling over with creamy flowers would be a beautiful centerpiece. Small favor boxes wrapped in broze paper laced with a moss green bow will tie the look of the reception tables together.
Ice blue is a pale color that lends itself beautifully to a winter wedding. Pair it with touches of silver for a color palette which will bring to mind the icy sparkle of sunlight on snow. Pale blue definitely lends itself to incorporating a seasonal motif such as snowflakes. Imagine how beautiful a pale blue fondant with a silver white snowflake design wedding cake would be. Very festive and pretty. Ice blue satin will look gorgeous for bridesmaid dresses. Classic white pearl earrings with tiny crystal accents for sparkle will be lovely with the dresses. Fancy silver sandals will complete the bridesmaids' ensembles. For wedding flowers, try a crisp white that has small silver balls tied in amongst the blossoms. Tie it all up with an ice blue satin bow for the perfect winter wedding bouquet. The light colors will feel like a breath of fresh air on a dark winter's day.
redoing my Room help?
mmkay so im a 13 year old girl who loves fashion but im not a girly girl. i HATE PINK! and really don't like dresses. so far i have my room ideas laid out...wut do u think? 2 teal blue walls, 1 and a half wallpaperd wall, http://www.designyourwall.com/store/Grace-White-and-Black-floral-damask-retro-modern-wallpaper-GB18141g-pr-3312.html the other half will be whit and have a chalkboard. then im geting a new black bed and my closet and main doors will be black. im completley redoing my room. any ideas??? so far i need help ojn what carpet/rug to use. my mom says no hard wood floors but there REALLy is NO BUGET im helping to pay myself and my mom and dad too. Websites please id like lots of cool designs and accesories.
I love your ideas so far, especially with the chalkboard. For the flooring, I think wood floors would look the best (so good!!) and then add a nice fluffy shag rug (preferably white or off-white). But if your getting carpet, I would get an off-white color b/c you don't want to have too much bright color. Tone it down a little with the white, b/c you already have black doors and furniture. I would continue getting black furniture (ie. a nightstand, dresser, etc). Then for the walls I would frame designs of clothing, vogue covers, etc. to help bring out your love of fashion. And last of all, I would get a manican from pbteen that you can dress up and stuff...this will be the ultimate deocor:

Gooddd luckk!!
