Bark Mulch Is Perfect For Home Gardeners
A lot of people are interested in gardens and many consider it a great hobby to enjoy at home or away. Of course there is lots of different parts to gardening and I think that is why its just so popular. When it comes to planning your own garden you have got a lot to think about. A problem every gardener faces is how decorate their paths or driveways and what material is most suitable for this.
Well, one of the best ways to decorate your garden and paths without having to worry about maintenance is to use bark mulch. You would know bark mulch as the material you see in kids playgrounds and most outdoor activity centres. Its small playbark which form a mulch and create a rather unique and stylish surface. It is a very versatile product and allows you do many different things, so go and get creative.
The reason that bark chippings is so popular is because it's so easy to find and it's also a very cheap product to buy. This makes it ideal for your home and it can be used for a variety of different reasons such as pathways, driveways, decoration of borders and the best part is that it can be used to protect your borders from weeds because they find it difficult to grow through it.
Bark mulch is widely available online and also in all the major gardening stores. Alternatively you can make your own bark mulch by buying a piece of equipment called a chipper. They are fairly expensive so should only be bought if you plan on shredding lots of wood for your garden. For the majority of gardeners, buying readymade bark mulch is the easiest and can also be bought in varying quantities and sizes to suit your needs.
concreting in a garden swing?
i have brought a 3 metre high heavy duty galvanised steel TP TOYS garden swing for my son and it has to be concreted in, now i know this might sound a bit dumb but can some one let me know how to do it correctly as i want to make it as safe as possible for him as my son has autisim and he adores swings , the reason i have had to buy a large one is because of his age and he is a bit to heavy for the smaller ones , I have also brought a rubber mat for the ground. thankyou.
Wickes, B&Q etc. sell bags of premixed cement/sand/gravel specifically for this type of job.
Dig 4 holes for the legs about 400mm deep. Put the legs in the holes (level the swing up with a spirit level) and then pour in the (dry) mix. Add water as per qty specified on bag. You will probably need 4 bags to give max. strength.
