SIZE AND COMFORT:
This really is completely a single of the tents finest attributes. The Eureka Copper Canyon 1512 is usually a true 15'x12' tent, as advertised. We had a king size air mattress, two blow-up side tables, a 36" diameter table (with two huge heaters on top), the dog's sleeping crate and two giant hanging shelf systems and had more than adequate area to sleep 3 or 4 extra men and women. Becoming in this tent is like obtaining a master bedroom although you're camping - you By no means really need to bend above and the center height of 7' requires tip-toes to reach (we hung a little lantern and it was a little bit difficult to get it up there). We lit two Coleman ProCats about an hour prior to we turned in every single evening and also the tent was a comfy 60º or so by the time we went to bed. The temperatures outside dipped into the 30s by 9:00pm. The whole roof from the tent is mesh (that is why I didn't have as well lots of reservations about operating two propane heaters) and also the fly is elevated about 6" above it permitting for lots of ventilation. For safety measures, we kept a battery operated carbon monoxide detector subsequent to us.
The rainfly consists of a sizable plastic center section that allows light to shine into the tent during the day; you can find nylon windows which could zip open to permit in the light or be closed for those who don't want the light.
Climate:
Fortunately, the climate was good for the duration of our trip. Each afternoon included some wind (perhaps as much as 30mph) as well as the tent held robust. We utilized all guy lines (provided with the tent) and staked all loops. We encountered some light rain two afternoons and some heavy rain for a short time a single night. No water produced it in the tent. Key to this is retaining all products away from the sidewalls, which is made straightforward by the sheer size and practically vertical walls in the copper canyon 1512. We also used a 16'x12' tarp underneath the tent (folded 1' underneath) and it worked completely.
